New Wheels and Tires Help!
Guys,
I'm planning to buy new tires for my 98 GST Spyder. Right now I have koni AGX and Eibach spring which has given it a nice drop. At first I was looking at buying 225/40 18 and 18x8 wheels. I was reading a post earlier and some people said that this might rub especailly because of the drop. So then I was thinking of going a little smaller maybe to 215/50 17 and 17x8 wheels. What do you'll have on your car? Do you get good grip with that set up? Thanks.

i have 225/45 17x9 rims all around and i had it slammed and still no rubbing but speed bumps were my problem, so i raised it up. i have kohmo Z rated tires, and i get awesome grip. but i'm looking at going to do either a 17x8, or if i can evo MR rims and low profile tires.

if you are refering to "45" as the end of the first number; the first number (225, 235, 245) is the width of the tire, not the height of the tire. whe he said that he raised the car up he means that he asjusted his suspension to add height to the car because it was too low for his taste.

Hey when you say you raised it up did you adjust the suspension or get a bigger profile? Would a 45 profile make the car too low? MY spyder is already slammed to the floor...

yea dude... 9" is definatly overkill lol i guess since you have a gs-t that it would be cool to have them on the front but good lord man... also you have to think... 9" of tread is extremely heavy also! i'd say 8.5 would be perfect.
