I just went with my g/f to look at an Auto GSX and the stock side mount was replaced with just a piece of pipe. I had looked at my GST just the other day and looked at the SMIC so when i noticed no IC, i was shocked. How bad is it for your car to not have the IC?

 

once the turbo gets hot, that would be some very hot air you would be putting back into the engine

 

it will burn a valve. If its not already burnt it can at any moment. Get an IC in there as fast as you can

No IC will do more than bend a valve it will blow the motor. you can run no ic at like 5 PSI that is it. I bet it has the side mount still you just missed it.

I don't have a camera and I'm pretty sure that the jack-*** who was selling it wouldn't like me to take pics. When I asked him where the intercooler was, he said he didn't know what that was, and preceded to tell me it was the top of the line all-wheel drive turbo. As for the image of the intercooler, picture the braded tube from the top of the intercooler being connected by a pipe with a bend that eliminated the silencer box and connected to the lower braded IC pipe. It looked like it was JB Welded together. I damn near s*** a brick when i saw it.

if thats the case, just forget about the car and look somewhere else. if hes runninng that thing without an IC, theres no telling what other stupid **** hes done or has happened to it that hes not telling you about. knowing dsm's, if you buy it, youll find out everything wrong with it about a month down the road.
