i know this might be a noob question, but i need help. I need o2 sensors put on my car.now do i have to buy o2 sensor housing things and then buy o2 sensors . Do you need to have the housing or is there a way to just install the o2 sensor with out them. thanks for your help.

 

nope. you just gotta unscrew the old one and unplug it and screw in the new one and plug it in. no need to buy a housing.

 

thank god..however, i'm not sure if my car has ever had any, because its a custom exhaust . i bought the car with somethings done to it, it was such a good deal, i had to lol, especially for my first car.

 

well your car needs an o2 sensor. i also have a custom exhaust and i have 1, its on top of the o2 housingwhich bolts up to the turbo itself.

yeah, its only like a 10 minute job. and no problem.

 

well only a 10 min. job if the o2 sensor isnt rusted to the exhaust kinda like mine was when i went to replace it

 

sorry. i havent had to change the one on my car so i was just guessing.

 

be VERY VERY VERY careful when installing the new o2. you can EASILY strip or cross thread the existing threads. then you're really screwed.
