Default oil temp gauge

okay so i noticed my oil temp was reading as cold as possible i looked under my car and there is a plug hanging down unplugged i tried to get under and look at it and see where it went i was thinking it would be on the oil pump. and my chiltons manual didnt really help or i cant find it. so i was hoping i could get some help from you guys with turbo eclipse ( i drive a 97gst ) thanks ahead of time

help guys i cant find where this stupid wire plugs in. my aftermarket oil temp gauge is working just fine tho? any idea why the am one would be working and not the stock one? are the connections in different places? help help wheres ta? sebba?

well first of all its kinda improtant to note that there is no such thing as a stock oil "temperature" gauge. There is only a water temperature guage and an oil pressure guage.

So please clarify which one you are talking about

its the water temp then i guess the one next to the stock boost gauge. i think its the water temp isnt it?

Oh my, no, water temp is on the very right next to the fuel gauge. The one next to the boost gauge is oil pressure

okay well if its oil pressure thats fine i wasnt sure my gf has my car but where would that connect to the oil pump or some where on the block? is my after market oil pressure gauge in a different spot because it is working. im all confused

yea well its confusing to me too cuz your really not making any sense. What kinda aftermarket guage do you have because i dont know how you confuse an aftermarket as an oil temp, cuz usually they say right on it.

well i figured it was okay becausemy aftermarket oil pressure gauge is still working is what i was trying to say and the stock one is not working. so i am just trying to figure out wherethe stock oil pressureplugs intoon the engine
