ya I know but it is in a horrible spot. I mean I have only had eclipses that I changed the oil on and they are all in the same spot under neath as the EVO my other cars (86 4runner , and 89 Z24 2.8L) didnt last long enough for an oil change both broke with in 6 months or less lol

 

both of my hyundai's had the filter in the same type of location. Why would they put it some place different? just keep a convention dammit

 

Nah if everyone put the oil filter in the same spot it would make our jobs EASIER... LOL

 

I truly appreciate where the oil filter is on my 97 RS. On my 01 Cavalier the filter is between the engine and the firewall where you will have all sorts of fun trying to remove it without burning the skin off your arm. On top of that it drips oil right onto the downpipe which makes for a James Bond smokescreen moment after you change the oil
