P0300/ vac leak

ok my car just threw this code how do i fix it and what causes it? one thing is i know i have a vac leak somewhere-how much would a shop charge to fix it? and what is the reason i am throwing this code?

Its not a vac leak, its a missfire.

Plugs or wires, change em up with NGK Classics and Mitsubishi spark plug wires.

no what i am saying is that my car has a vac leak. i hear a hissing sound and it runs like crap, i just cant find where it is. so wat would it cost to get it fixed?

The hissing sound is more than likely from the intake, somewhat normal.

I just told you what the problem is.

If for some freak chance that it actually is a vac leak, it would cost how ever long it takes to find the leak. Im 90% sure that its not that.

well would that cause my car to have a hard time holding an idle to, its also hard to start when i first start it up/cold start.

i would do what Sebba said first he might be right....but if you think hes lieing or dont know what hes talking about, do a boost leak test

the only reason i keep asking is because of how it idles. its not timing it is dead on.

it will run like crap if its a big enough leak.. I would personally try finding the leak first then see if it gets better.. It could be just running to rich and foul the plugs out.. So even if you replace the plugs it could just keep happening..

My moms GST had fried plugs and toasted wires and wouldnt idle.

If the boost leak was that bad, then you wouldnt be able to go past a certain RPM. Like a barrier.

its not a boost leak its just a vac leak some where i think. but i was reading in another page that a vac leak would cause these simptoms 2 that is y i think its a vac leak. i will try the plugs first
