Default by pass the amp?

I'm thinking to buy a new heatunit for my 2001 eclipse spyder, but the guys at bestbuy told me that I had to by pass the amps that come with my car or I wont get any sound in my speaker?.. any of you know whats up with that?? do I really need to by pass the amp? or can I still use the factory amp or do I need buy a new one?

I took my car to an audio shop, and they by-bassed my amp... I don't know exactly how they did it, but it only cost me $60. The dumb asses got the left and right channels mixed up, but other than that, it was a good install. Also, I'm willing to bet that the center speaker on the dash isn't hooked up.

i removed my factory amp and just ran a new ground and all new wires 4 th speakers. thats the only way the head unit would have worked. the audio shop wanted to charge me 160 for it.
