Default Possible electrical problem 95' GST

I just bought a 95 GST and it keeps starting and immediatlydies. If I remove the positive terminal on the battery and put it back onit will startand idlebut after turning it on and offa couple oftimes it goes back to dying right after ignition? the past owner let the car set for about 1-2 years. I replaces the spark plugs but to no avail.Very frustrating...Anyone have any ideas? My first mitsubishi and first import.

sounds like your not getting enough gas. check the fuel filter and then the pump....sometimes they give out after sitting for a year or two

pump is easyest thing to check. sit inside ur car. turn the key to the ON position. DONT TURN IT OVER. just on. ull hear the pump, almost like a buzz sound. also hit the nozzle on the fuel rail to see if fuel is even getting to that

How's the gas in the tank; is it new or that 2 year old gas?

if all these suggenstions dont help, try getting your injectors cleaned out, you might have gunk built up in them

yeah if the gas is indeed 2 years old there's your problem. and if it isn't you'll have a blast trying to figure it out. If it's not the fp or the fuel system, it's more than likely a wiring problem, unless it could be something like the ignition coil, that once it gets hot it starts fouling. Once a car sits for a year or more the wiring starts to act up and everything becomes a pain in the a**. happened to my first eclipse too
