Default possible engine swap

Alright, i've been to a couple other forums, and i'm new to the whole import scene so I don't know a lot of people yet. I have a simple question that I can't seem to find anyone to answer. I just got a '95 GS a few weeks ago, got it tuned up mechanically, and i'm trying to plan future mods. I would like to know if it is possible to swap the 420A with a fairly recent EVO engine. I'm not worried about money or labor, just want to know if it's possible and under what conditions (engine bay mods...etc.) Someone please help me out. Thanks.

The Evo engine? (I can't remember what block the Evo has) You'll likely be looking at replacing both engine and tranny and all mounting positions. Not to mention the wiring harness, ECU, and PCM. You'd probably have to rearrange quite a bit under the hood and possibly lose a few things to make room. It should be possible though. You need to take measurements and take a look at where things are located currently and what would need to go in there. I've not seen it done but I see no reason why you can't (I've seen weirder like a PT Cruiser with a hemi and converted to rear wheel drive, and a Miata with a 302).

if i remeber correctly the evo has a 4g63 that is faced the same whay as our motor "420" so prob some minor mount moving if any. the best bet would be to find a evo that has just been totaled and buy the car after you strip it sell to a scrapyard.

the evo 1-3's 4G63 engine is mounted the same way as the 1G/2G. however, the evo 4-8's 4G63 is mounted 180 degrees opposite of the 1G/2G.

I figure I'd have to get the ECU if I did that but what about the wiring harness? Is it the same or no?
