not entirely. the evo 1-3 engine is oriented exactly like the 1G/2G engines. the evo 4-8(and 9 i think), the engine is oriented 180 degrees opposite to the 1G/2G engines, which is the same way that the 3G engine is oriented. This is why the evo 4-8 head is a swap option for the 3G

 

so 4-8 and the evolution "9" are same postion as the 420a so the swap wouldnt be as hard.

no there is no 420 in a 1g and the 2g it faces 180 from a gst or gsx.

 

i know theres no 420a in the 1G. i meant that i thought the 420a engine and the 4G63t engine in the 1G/2G were facing the same way.

so the 420a sits opposite of the 4g63t


ok.....i got mixed up. im getting these n/t engine swaps and turbo engine swaps mixed up. ok. the evo 1-3 engines WILL swap with the gst/gsx engine. the evo 4-8 will not b/c of the orientation.

now using general logic, if the 420a is opposite the 4g63, then the evo 1-3 engines will NOT be a good swap with the 420a(without tons of modifications). but the evo 4-8 would be an easier swap.

 

anyone know where I can find an EVOVIII engine?

They make a kit for the Evo 6 motor to be put into a gs eclipse for a 96 i know.
dont know anymore about it tho friend told me he saw it on the internet one day
