Default Power Steering bad ?

[X(]Good afternoon to all! My daughter has a 98 eclipse. All of a sudden the Power Steering does not want to work. I checked the fluid level and it seems to be ok. The belt is on and when the car is running the power steering pump pulley is working. There was some fluid on top of the canister and when I opened it it seems to have air bubbles. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks fbradlaw

The pump is probably shot.

Notice on any car when you turn the wheel all the way to one direction, you see the tach drop a few RPMs, and you hear the pump under strain. If you do this long enough, it kills the pump.

Either that or the pump ran dry once in its life and that killed it.

It needs to be replaced.
