Default problem with the crank shaft sensor

hows it going guys sorry its been so long since ive been on but here we go with more problems. i have a 95 talon esi and i think my crank sensor might either be dirty or bad b/c im not getting any fuel or spark in the engine i heard that if the cam and crank sensor didnt work in sync with each other that i could get this problem...i know my fuel pump isnt bad b/c we hard wired it and it worked but i still wasnt getting any spark...anyone have any suggestions??

An N/A motor...hmmm, check the ASD relay and fuel relay. Yes, the CPS will keep your car from getting spark, but so will the ASD relay and it will/can keep you from getting fuel too. An auto will have them on the firewall, next to the brake resevoir. I don't recall where they are on a manual car though.

well i looked at both of the relays last night and they looked fine...although whoever had the car before me put some kind of milky white gel or something on the prongs on the relays for w/e reason not sure why...i tried to take off the crank sensor b/c someone told me that sometimes the sensorcan get road gunk and stuff on it and cause a problem and if you clean it then it might work if its not bad but i cant get the sensor to come out...not sure whats going on...

I think that gel is dielectric grease. It's fine on the relay connections but not on the actual sensor.
The CPS may just be stuck and might need a little bit of coaxing, lol.

The relays can be replaced with standard 12v relays from Radio Shack.

Those things are good about dying, so are the relays though. Not that the CPS has any physical connection to the crank, but you could always try to crank the motor once and then try and remove it. It's a huge shot and I'd laugh if it works but it never hurts, lol.
