Hey so i've got a guy that wants to sell me his PTE 50 trim... but i'm not sure i wanna go that high with my motor... granted i have a brand new rebuild, with 1g big rods and 7.8:1 pistons, basically just a stock rebuild, with built head, etc... but i'm afraid that a turbo that big would be pushin the engine a bit... i have all the supporting mods other than the forged internals in the block... what do you guys think?do you think my motor is more than strong enough to handle this power? or would it be pushin it.. it's rated for 460hp max. I think it can handle it. Just as long as you can tune: )

Personally, i would go with a milder setup like just an EVO III 16g.. but thats purely me.

 

Nah i say go for the 50 trim. That way when you want alittle extra power there youll have it. And just cuz its rated at 460 doesnt mean you have to run it at that. The 50trim will still spool around 4k rpms and i figure you can probably run about 400hp on a good tune.

 

my only fear is that im gonna spend all this money to get this car running, then i go to get dyno tuned at buschur and my engine blows on the machine

 

if your going to buschur i wouldnt worry about it . If you tell them your mods they will have that thing running perfectly safe. If all about having a good a/f ratio and making sure your egt's are good. But they will definetly give good advice as far as what knida tune they can do that wont blow up the engine

Thats a good deal. what are the exact specs of the turbo he is selling you. there are many versions of the 50trim. mine is ball bearing .63 a\r exteranlly gated. is this one internally gated? Trust me you wont be making anything close to 460HP unless your tuned on race gas or meth. if it is on pump gas only the car will prob only make between 375-410HP depending on the specs of the turbo. If buschur is tuneing the car you can count on haveing a awsome safe reliable power makeing tune so do not worry about the motor. your motor should be able to take a little more than that turbo can give it
