Cool, well the best place to buy a complete turbo kit is HRC, Hahn Racecraft. They do their own in house testing and manufacturing and actually started out as a shop by turbocharging the 420a specifically. They have their kits in stages, and each stage is priced well with-in reason. Their Stage 1 kit include everything you'll need externally to turbocharge the 420a. I'm not sure what turbocharger they use on their stage 1 kit, but i believe they use strictly Mitsubishi turbo's. So you can buy the kit, bolt it on, and then go. No need to buy a wastegate, BOV, or even extra bolts, they're all included in the kit. Other manufacturer's include Star and recently Turbonetics.

Holy crap, i thought the prices went down recently, looks like they went up instead...Well, if you're getting the engine rebuilt, You're not gonna find a kit that give you 16-20psi without spending more than 5k. Hahn does sell parts though, and they have the turbo manifold with a super 20g for $1049. That's a pretty good deal, and that turbo can go over 30psi without problems. Plus they matched the manifold with the turbo to give optimal flow and less back pressure, so it's pretty good. If you really want to get 16-20psi, you'd be better off(money-wise) piecing together a kit by yourself. The advantages of doing this are that you can pick whatever components you want, and find all the good deals on them too. If you're redoing the engine, are you sticking with the stock cams or going with a custom grind? I heard the stockers are pretty good for a turbo, but i've never seen anything besides basic kits. anyways, hope this helps you out a bit. keep us updated too.

my father has a macinest that is a freaking genious on motors and little cars like mine he is do it all. i got the price for a .30 over performance cams crank total performance head rebuild mill port polished and ballanced preformance pistons arms. the works for only $1500.00. so he will be doing the motor plus it has a guarantee on all the work so if it blowes up it gets fixed.

Yeah, good luck trying to blow a built 420a. Those things are really strong with a fortified bottom end. They're not as overbuilt as say a toyota engine(2jz, 3s, 1uz), but they can really hold their own. But $1500 is a lot....
