hello everyone. i own a 2000 eclipse rs. i am installing a system in my car and i want to know weather or not if anyone knows if it is better to buy a capacitor for the system or get a new and more powerful alternator. also i wanted to know if anyone knows how many watts the alternator is ? and also would it be best for me to buy a better alternator and all ? and does anyone know any like aftermarket or anything i can get one, if someone can respond back and answer my questions i would greatly appriciate it

<FONT face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" color=black size=2>it depends on how powerful of a system you want to put in it. i had a sony p5 and two pioneer midranges powered by a 600w pyle amp. it worked great and i never had any problems with it...if your l;ooking to go over 1000w, id buy a 1.5 farad capacitor</FONT></P>

well ok i have 2 JL 12 w6's and im gettin an mtx class d amp its like 800 watts...u think ill need a cap ?

im not up on JL's, but my friend has 2 JL w3's and the fosgate 801s amp, its 2400w peak 800rms and he doesn't have one...it cracked his back window...so i don't think you'll need it</P>

 

what kinda car did he have ?
