Questions about the eclipse turbos....
Hey guys,
I'm gonna be selling my Infiniti I30 pretty soon and I'm hoping to get an 90-99 Eclipse GS-T and I have a few questions about the turbo. This would be the first turbo car that I've owned.
First off, I'm going to want to put an aftermarket BOV on it. Do they come with a stock BOV, or will I have to make room for one? Also, what will come along with putting the BOV on the piping of the turbo? I assume I'll have to hook it up to the throttle but I don't know how I could achieve this. I'm sure its been done here.
Finally, how hard is it to put in a booster controller? Would I just hook it up to the CPU (if there is one for the stock turbo) or would I have to replace the stock CPU with another one?
Thanks,
DF

The cars have a factory BOV the ones from 95-99 are no good the leak boost but to upgrade just bolt on the new one the the flange the old one was on..But make sure you get one that uses a dump tube or can re cirulate because if it vents to the atmosphere the car wont run right
As for the boost controller its a matter of really just to hoses if you go on to any DSM forums and click "how to" section there will be info on how to intsall it for that car and usaully have some good pics as well
On the T25 in the 95-99 it cant really take more than 17PSI and the 14B in the 91-94 I have seen push 19PSI with feul upgrades and other thing Be sure when you play with the boost you know what your doing cause a turbo car if tuned the wrg way can blow up rather easy

Thanks guys.
So if I had a recirculating BOV there wouldn't be that sneeze that other BOV's make right?
This may sound stupid, but that's really what I'm looking for in a turbo. I love the sneeze!

It will have the sneeze..but not as loud as if it were vented to the atmosphere if you have an aftermarket intake it will be louder, My EVOs is stock and I have a cone filter and now its pretty loud poeple can here it down the street
If you want really loud buy a Turbo smart daul port BOV what this does it alows you to adjust how much you can recirculate so for most EVO guys they use 80% recirc and 20% vented to the atmosphere. So this BOV sounds like it is fully vented but it will reciculate enough to keeps your car running 100% perfect

and it goes something like this.........HISSSSSSSSssssss!!!!!......lolz. yeah, got to have the pipe's bro. it smoothes the circulations, and spit it louder compare to stock rubber hose. want it louder?? check out turbo x's b.o.v. heres the link: TURBO X'S B.O.V.
The RFL is by far the loudest BOV I have herd yet My buddy uses it on his RX7 and it is just insanely loud at times even too loud however you cant vent a DSM to the atmosphere 100% with out haveing slight trouble. I would suggest the TurboSmart Daul port itsthe best of both worlds you can vent it it Will be very loud and you can recirc enough to be sure the car will run correctly
To be honest you dont even need to Vent the BOV at all my stock BOV is pretty loud and all I have is an injen intake filter. which beleive me it made it alot louder than the stock airbox. so with something like the Greedy BOV or even the TUrbo xs type h Ibeleive it is they will both be even louder than my stock and thats with out it being vented
