well as some of you know i had to get my car running again because of the camshaft sensor and a busted cam sprocket pin???

now the mechanic replaced all belts, timing, etc.
replaced the pin and the sensor.
and also replaced the seals in the cams and camshaft.

$656 wow

now when I drive it, it drives and boosts excellent.

but if i take it over 4k in first and secon, i can here this whine coming from the engine, "when it pretty much starts to boos" sounds like its coming from the belts not sure. and it doesnt sound like a turbo spooling.

could my belts be rubbing. or are he just breaking it?
or could it be the seals whinning?

 

You turbo is toast : )

Take your intake off and wiggle it side to side and in and out. VERY little side to side is normal.. anything else is not .

 

i agree with sebba, it sounds like the infamous turbo death whine

got any cash left from the work you had done? for about 1500-2000 you can do a 16g install...

 

For 500 bucks you can do a 16g install! Used turbo = 350+install kit = 400.

 

sorry guys, i highly doubt its the turbo.
it def sounds like its coming from the belts, like something is rubbing together.

does not sound like a whinning turbo. i know what that sounds like from the rx-7.

car boosts excellent. very strong and responsive.

is there anything to check the turbo just to make sue???

 

well i just drove it and maybe it is my turbo.

it increases gradually and decreases gradually with rpm's

so how long do you think i have if i just started hearing it???

a couple months please???

sebba told you how to check it. Take off the intake and play with the shaft and see if it has any side to side or in and out play.
