I'm thinking its the first one but i thought i would ask before i start disconnecting things...I did watch the YouTube video but i could tell. Some people say its better for the engine, the thrust bearing. I never leave it in gear, EVER, so i thought i would just do it......

well it's mainly the 7 bolt that ppl do it in just so it lets the car last a little longer without walkin the crank.

I unplugged mine too. I don't start my car without checking to see if it's in gear first anyway, never have. It takes a whole .5 seconds to move the shifter to the right with my elbow while my hand moves to the ignition (yeah, that's my modified version of a gear check, lol).

I've seen and heard about people forgetting that their car is in gear and blah, blah. That's their fault not the clutch switch IMO. Even automatics don't start in gear (unless you consider park or neutral a gear). Yeah, I understand the whole incline thing, but really though, it takes a second to check if the car is in gear and get it into neutral. Blah, the switch is there to remind folks that the car may be in gear and for you to check. If it takes a switch to make folks put their car in neutral before start up, then let them keep it.

I would have linked you to the clutch switch removal vid, but since you already know what to get at, there was no point
