Default quick question

is it bad if there is oil on the spark plug boot that goes to the spark plug? i was going to check my plugs but after realizing i dont have an extension at my house i put the boot back on. it wasn't a whole lot maybe an inch up the outside of the boot.

Valve cover gasket needs to be replaced.
Along with the outer gasket, theres 4 O shaped seals for the spark plug chambers, thats whats leaking.
Go to O'Reilys and get a valve cover gasket, its $22.
Or scam em' and say you work for a local shop and get it at cost

Another thing to consider is the oil cap. It's gasket might not seal that well anymore. Check it and make sure that it's not hard. Oil on the tops of the plug can also indicate a bad oil cap. That also goes with an oily valve cover too, lol.
