Default racing???

while racing going into 4th gear my car pulls back like it is in 2nd gear. what could be the reason for this and do you think i need to replace the clutch or just shift into 5th? my car is a gst and im not sure on the turbo size b/c it was upgraded when i bought it and it doesn't say on the turbo what size it is the only numbers on the turbo are f2211. and if anyone has ever had this problem what did you do to fix it.

That wouldent be a clutch problem, going that fast you have to look at other places to find your problem, in that gear you should be over 80(past 3k) so I would make sure you have v rated tires, also areodynamics play a role in that to, a car can only go so fast.

Yeah what speed were you going when you tried shifting to 4th, and what were your RPMs reading when you shifted into 4th and dropped the clutch? Did the engine wind up or did it stay at the lower end of the tach? Are you sure you didn't merely accidentally shift into 2nd instead of 4th?

When going from 3rd to 4th the RPMS were at 5500. As for the engine it wound up, and I am pretty sure I didn't accidently go into 2nd because it did it twice. Thanks for your replies

It sounds like a 2nd gear slip up to me. Your not going to do that if you hit 4th gear. Kinda strange...do you have an aftermarket shifter?

Its def not all that uncommon with a shorty shifter. that is why I stck with my stock one. plus a shorty would be a long reach in the EVO.. it already is a long reavh

That's one thing I love about my sentra. It won't LET me drop it down into too low a gear. It has interlocks so that like if I'm doing 30 MPH it physically blocks my from dropping into first.
