Default radio code

Hey whats up. pain in the butt isnt it. I went through it too with my 98 GSX. I found out where to get the codes in my area. I dont want to give out their number for fear of overwelming them with radio code requests. Here are some things you can do. First before anythinglook through your manual and service log bookyou may have the code card in there. Next if you dont find the cardget the serial number off the top of your radio ( you will have to remove the plastic trim around the radio and if you cant see the sticker that the number is on you may have to take the radio out). Next with thisnumber call around to all the Mitsu dealers in your area IF THEY WANT TO CHARGE YOU THEY ARE RIPPING YOU OFF THEY HAVE NO RIGHT!! The codes are for anti theift not to steal your money. Expain to them that you have the serial number and would like the codes for free, especially if you already paid them x amount for you car. If that doesnt work call Mitsubishi directly and see what you can do. </P>

You can get on-line too for about $50. Just do a search. </P>

I went through this already. One dealer wanted $100 - I don't go there anymore. But a different dealerjust wanted copy of my title and the serial number off of the unit - no charge. I wrote the number on my title.</P><edited><editID>sixpak</editID><editDate>37970.4405092593</editDate></edited>
