really big problem, engine is running horrible! help!
well, don't know exactly what is wrong with the car... i just bought a used 1998 eclipse gst. 143k. it ran great the first 3 days i had it. since tuesday it started running wierd, the turbo would kick in at like 2300-2500 rpm. before it was like 2600-2800. also, it spools up really fast and you can hear it but it doesn't put out a whole lotta power. then, today like an hour ago, i was going to get on the freeway, took it up to 3000 rpm, got ready to shift and it cut out on me( engine power) but was still running just dropped in rpm's. then i shifted thinking it was a fluke and then in second gear it did it at 2500, so i stopped turned off my car and then started it up again and it would not idle right. up down up down ..... so i took off and all the same stuff happend but worse, and the i stopped and it wouldn't idle it would just die. i barely made it home not going over 2000 rpm. but i cannot figure out what is wrong with the car. i bought it with a full k&n intaKe and BULLET catback exhaust. i need to know whats wrong. do you guys have any ideas plz help??? i am freakin out right now cuz i just bought this car a week ago. from a dealership, but i would like to know what could be wrong with it b4 they touch it. it will be getting towed tomorrow.

boost leak or vacuum leak. trace your intake piping from the filter to the throttlebody and look for any loose hoses, holes etc. Then look at ll your vacuum lines

thank yuo guys a lot! i looked under the hood, started the car, heard a suction noise and noticed that the intake hose had popped off, right where it connect to the main air intake into the engine. right after the air filter. thank you very much you just saved my butt. it runs even better then when i first got it. if it happens again i will get a new thing to conect it! thanks ttyl!!
