red-lining without gas...? wtf help please
Okay so today I changed the oil (mistake #!) and when I shifted it into neutral to roll the car off the ramps it shifted really hard (usually just the incline) but this time something came off from underneath the car and Im not sure where from, Ill post pics. But the worst part is when I turned it over (mistake #2) my feet were nowhere near the pedals, and it just kept accelerating, which is loud with no exhaust. I killed the ignition when it hit 5000 rpms.
Come to think of it, a couple months back I did remove the throttlebody and clean it, I noticed the screws to hold the tps were broken.. could it have seated improperly? Or perhaps could the throttlebody cleaner have killed the sensor? And still wondering where those damn pieces came from... I can post pics later this evening, but the pieces consisted of a spring, a cylindrical metal sleeve the spring sits in, and what I can only describe as a bullethead on a screw. No idea where they came form, I was i the car when it happened, and havent been able to get underneath to look yet.
Any ideas or info would be greatly appreciated, I need this thing roadworthy by june.

Okay so the problems actually were all the same big issue. That kinda freak incident that would only happen to a car Im working on... and to correct myself it was not the tps that was loose it was the iac sensor. Since the bolts holding it to the throttlebody had been broken, apparently the sensor fell out when shifting out of park (to roll off the rampos, the car was off) and the sensor either hit something or got crushed, but the pieces were actually parts of the iac sensor. So when the car was turned over with no iac sensor to tell the car to idle, it decided to go open-throttle-like, revving up to 5000 rpms. I discovered this by removing the throttlebody and discovering the lack of sensor and a big hole where it belongs. Unfortunately the throttlebody is useless, as the bolts were snapped almost flush.
Time for a 55mm ported and polished throttlebody!!! Any ideas where I can find one for less than 170?
