Default rpm issues

so anybody have an experience withstarting up an eclipse and having the rpms shoot up to 2500 rpms and idling real high....like 1100 rpms? also while driving rpms take their time to come back down after i let off the gas. engine braking only happens every once n a while too. what could that be?

Other pro on here tend to suggest cleaning throttle body or check for vacum leak. I had a little vac leak and my idle was higher than normal and also when i start, the rpm shot up. I ghetto rigged it and stuck a screw in the intake manifold where the little hole was. Fix that problem.

If you search this topic you will find tons of discussions about this under my name. I had the same problem I went crazy finding out what it was. It ended up just being the intake manifold gasket. I say replace that befor you start on anything, its only 15 bucks and that should fix the problem. Its a a little time consuming to take off the manifold and what not but not too difficult of a fix.

maybe messing aroung with the BISS screw might help. Try that.
