Default SAFC-II Tuning

I have a wideband and I tuned the SAFCII with it,not too difficult. But when I get to wide open throttle my wideband goes all the way to rich and the car doesnt really feel like its pulling as hard as it should, and I know that you need to find the sweet spot between rich and lean to find the power. Searching for this, I had the throttle set to like -50% on one 5600-7000 rpms and it still ran rich. I didnt know if that was good so I turned it down to like -34/-36% until I could ask someone who knows more than me about this subject?

What do you guys think?

I do have that damn universal cat on my car still[:@] Im sure that doesnt help

the cat isnt gonna do that though. What is your boost doing at those high rpm's?

maybe all your problems are atributed to one thing. The not starting, the new noise, and the running rich. Its a posibility. I cant even think what it could be right now though.

yeah. well it still runs well for normal driving at least, just not at wide open throttle.

Since its running rich, do you think its safe leaning it out as much as I can?

nah i wouldnt. Id just let it do what its doing cuz then all your doing is trying to diguise a problem. Plus if somehow it fixed itself randomly and you have it at -50% then your engine is gonna run way to lean and you cause problems. Id just set it to what its supposed to be and stay off of WOT until you figure it out

well its always been like that, I just havent driven it hard or fast really too much, and saw that it was rich when I was first tuning it and just left it there because it was safe. so its not like a new problem that just popped up, or something thats going to fix itself. i just got bored and decided I wanted to drive faster and squeeze alittle more power out of it.

but I imagine -50% is for big injectors and turbos, not for a 16g and 550ccs

are all your settings right??? I think you should re setup the SAFC does the RPM read normal on the SAFC? did you set it up on Karman? something on the SAFC is not working right I bet its a wiring or setup issue.

oh and the sweet spot to tune for is between 11.1-11.5 AFRs on 93 pump gas

sounds like it might be a boost leak somewhere after the MAF. It sounds like you're loosing air somewhere between there and the maf, and since the ecu already accounted for that air.. its has added more fuel, even though the air isn't there. That's probably why you're running rich
