RE: SAFC-II Tuning
yeah its on karman, trust me I know what its like when its not. [:@]
the rpm reads normal
Lo-Throttle
1000/0%
1400/0%
2000/-2%
2600/-2%
3000/-2%
3600/-4%

4800/-17%
5600/-25%
6200/-25%
6800/-25%
7000/-25%
and the afr ususally reads 10.0 or 10.5 after 4000 rpms on lo-throttle
Hi-Throttle
1000/-20%
1400/-20%
2000/-25%
2600/-27%
3000/-31%
3600/-33%

4800/-33%
5600/-34%
6200/-34%
6800/-35%
7000/-35%
same afr, really rich, rarely see 11's
Let me know if Im screwing up somewhere, please

RE: SAFC-II Tuning
Somthing is definetly messed up because those settings are way to high. You shouldnt need them to be that much. And its kinda pointless to tune low throttle. But on the high you shouldnt even need to go over -20%

RE: SAFC-II Tuning
thanks for letting me know. but yeah I agree with you, something is messed up.
alright so I will turn down my high throttle to no more than -20%
besides checking for shaft play and boost leaks, what else can I do to troubleshoot the problem?

RE: SAFC-II Tuning
wirin, i would make sure that your wiring for the AFC is totally correct and that the connections are good. And also in your settings (im just making sure) you have it to 4 cylinder and throttle arrow pointing up

RE: SAFC-II Tuning
i just noticed your sig said 550s. Turn your lo settings to around -15ish. Dont know how someone could say these settings dont matter, they may not for racing, but they do for the other 99% of your driving. Now set the hi's to -20 at every point. Do a 3rd gear pull-floor it from 2k rpms to redline. Then adjust your hi settings accordingly. You want your AFR on the wideband to be between 10.9-11.3 depending on fuel and boost etc. Dont ever dial in other people's settings because everybodie's car is different. IN GENERAL though, you can expect your hi settings to be leaner at lo rpms, get a lil richer at like 4-5k range (thats peak torque/cylinder pressure) then lean out a few percent towards redline to make more power up high.
-also, the problem tuning with only an safc is that it tricks the ecu to seeing less airflow, then the engine adds too much timing and you knock more easily. Base timing is 5 degrees, but i found backing it down to like 2 degrees made the car run much better. Boost=more hp than timing

isee lots of false info in this thread and really hope you dont listen to some of these responses. First off, what size injectors are you tuning with?

And the reason i think the lo throttle is pointless is because your not getting much air and if you know when your at lo throttle your running what like a 13-14 AFR. So your saying you should subtract from that? I dont see the point
