Should i Buy this Car? a $3,500 awd Talon
I found a 1997 Eagle Talon AWD for $3,500 in a neighboring city. I called on it and he didn't know much about the car....but it has 120,000 miles its Red with a 5 spd and cloth interior, good wheels and i dont think its been wreckedbut i dont know. He said that it was in good physical and working order aka it runs good and looks good. Is this a good buy? i ran the specs on www.kbb.com and it came out to be like $6700 about. it sounds good. What do you think?
my plan is to turn it into an eclipse with the parts i have laying around.

Okay well i hope everything is good. i should call ahead and have them run a vehix report on it. the rust would most likly be in the fenders or the underbody ill make sure its not all rusted and what the heck is "crankwalk" and what would be some of the symptoms? im guessing this is in the engine, ill bring a flashlite to look into the oil cap to see if everything looks clean and maintained. What other things should i look it over for?

do a search for crankwalk. It has been discussed over and over. Normal symptoms are oil light flashing at idle, clutch sticking on left hand turns. Or the amount of play in the crank.

my AWD is cloth...[&:] 1g though
check it over good for anyoil smoke or knocks, lifter tapping is normal. crankwalk would be my biggest fear. i had a guy try to BS me and tell my aTSi Taloni was looking at was AWD becase it had an AWDsticker on it.. look under it and make sure it is.
hopefully the transfer case & rear drivetrain is all in good shape.

life the carpet and the wooden board up in the back hatch area, check to see if anything looks "crumpled" or if there is rust. My car was hit in the rear before i got it and it has a salvage title. Every thing is good on it so i lucked out. I had it checked out so i could be sure. Mine is a 95 tsi awd 5 speed with LEATHER interior and 135k miles
