Smart or not smart?
hey guys. Alright, I finally bought my Big 16G turbo. This is exaclty what I have done to my 95 Eclipse GST:
1. Greddy Type RS BOV
2. Greddy Evo2 catback exhaust
3. intake with K&N filter
4. boost gauge
5. removed BCS restrictor
Alright my question is.... I still have the stock intercooler piping... yes the soft kind. I dont have fuel pump yet or changed fuel filter. But I was talking to some guys on the turbo section on this forum. Can't remember who, but anyways they said it was ok for me to put on that turbo now but i CAN'T run my car over 17psi? Is this true? What should I do?

RE: Smart or not smart?
thats exactly right. I still would not run more than 15 ... but thats just me.
If you want to run anything more than that then you should get the following: Tuning device (SAFC II w/ wideband), Injectors, fuel pump. Not to mention after all that added power your stock clutch wont last much longer. It starts to wear out really quick at 300hp

RE: Smart or not smart?
oh yeah definitely. The thing is... I will be purchasing a FMIC kit soon, but I dont want to wait until I get that in order to put on the turbo. Then again, I can wait, but I dont really want to. But in order to install that FMIC i need to change my front bumper (the stock 95 Eclipse bumper) I know you really DONT have to, but I am going to. So I will be purchasing a full kit next week. Then i will start saving up for that FMIC, injectors, wideband, SAFCII, etc.
So i guess I will run somewhere aroun 12-14, maybe even 15psi. Thanks guys appreciate it. By the way, do you guys know how much hp that would give me?

IF you buy a GReddy piping kit, it will route to your SMIC and then it has a coupling and another piece to go to a FMIC when you get it. Not to mention it will already have the RS BOV flange on it. It is what I'm doing.

I wouldnt run more than 14PSI on the 16G the T25 maxes out fuel at 17/18 but the 16G flow more air so it will take less Pressure to require more fuel. just buy a fuel pump they are only like $80 and then you have no worries untill you get injectors and an SAFC
