ORIGINAL: RCJr9186

93 octane will burn MORE of the fuel used because it's more flamable
thats not exactly true...its actually less flammable...higher octane fuel is just used when there is a high amount of pressure in the cylinders(turbo etc..) and the higher octane holds off the firing in the cylinder for a little longer to prevent detonation and knocking.
thats why its basically pointless to put premium in an n/a car.

ok... yea i knew all that about the diffrences between the octanes, didnt kno bout the cat back...

hmm they claimed it had 2000k miles on the new long block... now... when i saw the oil, it didnt seem like regular oil... it was almost coolant colored, greenish, and it was of low viscosity... it was a lil under the min line, so i dropped by autozone, got the premium 5w-40. it went up to the line... i turned it on, and yea it began smokin, then my bro in law came like an hour or so later, nd it burned less... hmm... when i started it that time, i was a bit happy and relieved since i didnt see smoke come out, but after close inspection, a bit was still coming out, though it wasnt spittin out oil... can it be wat sebba just said?... should i keep on turning my car these days to see if things improve?... since monday i havent moved it, or turned it on.. =[

oops didnt finish this...

hmm question... normal driving, i run on 20-10 vaccuum, then on like 1-2 gear, when i drive harder than usual, it raises up to 3-4 boost max, nothing higher...
on 3-5 gear, it goes up to 9 boost max... is this normal, having 1-2 gear run on 3-4 lbs boost max, nothing higher?

sorry bout that... brain thinks ahead of fingers...

to me that doesnt sound right with the boost. You should be able to hix full boost in every gear as long as your flooring it and your letting it continue to build.
