Default Something Weird

My driveway dips downward and so I park my Talon 1.8l on a slant.

Whenever I park it slanted frontward-downward it starts up smoothly-no bearing noise.

but...

whenever I park the car with the back slanting downward at start up -the engine makes rod-bearing-ticking noise for about 6 seconds until the oil pressure builds up.

The oil filter is mounted on the side of the engine facing the front bumper and so I figure that when I park the car on a downward slant facing forward the oil is all leaning forward into the oil-pick-up-tube-oil-pump-oil-filter assembly and so this helps the car to lubricate almost immediately without some few second delay.

That's a 4g9- series engine right? That is weird, but not unbelievable.

Sounds pretty logical to me, the oil's probably stuck on one side of the pan when it makes noise and isn't picking up as much as when you're facing the other way.

Well, usually the oil pan would be filled with enough oil so that it won't ever have a dry start-up...atleast on the 4g6x engines....i think it's pretty neat.

Don't know where the level sits full in these, I was just going on logic. Maybe the oil pump isn't pulling as strong as it should.

This is a good possibility. Maybe a diagnostic is needed. Or you just have the typical lifter tick most people driving these cars have. Be it 4G63 or 4G93.
