Default speaker question

First off,I know this isn't the right forum for this question but the last post I left in the audio forum has been there for 5 days and it's still at the top of the post.I am just hoping someone here could give me a quick answer. When I traded my 99RS I had polk 6.5 in the front door and Polk 6x9 in the back and 2 Polk 12's in a ported box in the trunk,I removed all the speakers to take with me.I got the 95 RS and I got the 6.5's in the door but the 6x9's are not wanting to fit in the back.Is there a diffrence in the speaker cavity size in the 95 and the 99?Thanx for the help

There might be less room for the magnet to fit. If that's the case, then you're out of luck. Polk uses silicone magnets, which are large and heavy.

Ya the speaker recess is different from 96-97 along with the body change. Let me guess the back of the speaker hits the frame. Same thing happened to me, I had to cut a hole in the frame and place it in there. Which is right where your arm would rest if you were sitting in the back seat, the only bad thing is that the piece of plastic covers the speakers so its undetecable.

I don't think the hole is any different,I didn't really pay that much attention to it,I assumed it was the same. The speaker catch's real close to where the wires hook up.I am goanna try and dremel out some plastic on the upper end of the housing. Thanks for the info

Just ta let people know,I cut out all the plastic up to the factory spacer and the 6x9 fit perfectly, just drilled a few holes for the screws and it all fit real nice back on the car.
