2001 eclipse gt speaker question?
The speaker above where the radio displayed has blown out in my car. I have no idea how to get to the speaker! It looks like the whole plastic piece comes off and ive tired but i dont want to break anything to i didnt put any real umph into it. Anyone know how i get to that speaker? Do i have to remove the whole center piece of the dash or does that piece actually come off and im just being a P*SSY? Please only reply if you know how to get to the speaker! Thank you!

The piece that holds your cd player in it, there are 2 screws on the bottom of it, phillips heads, one on each side *one on driver side, one on passenger side* of that peice. once those are out, pull up and out on the peice *it will resist a little cause it's cliped in* once you get the peice off, unplug the hazard lights cable from the button. I don't remember if there will be 2 more screws on the peice that covers the speaker, if so take them off and pull up on that peice and it should come out (if there are no screws pull towards you and up, you may need to use a flat head screw driver to pry it loose a but, by no means should it be really difficult to pull it off, but it is clipped in as well so it will resist a little as well.) but once you get that off, you can unclip the speaker and I don't remember if there's a screw holding it in or not , but you should be able to figure it out when you get there. *all the screws should be phillips heads by the way.*

Dont bother replacing that speaker. Disconnect it. Chrysler (the company that produces the 3G) has already admitted that its not a good design, and most dealerships will eliminate the speaker entirely.
