speedometer

Alright heres the deal, heh... my eclipse didnt com with a tacometer so i wanted to put one in and somehow i ended up bumbing the needle on the speedometer and knocking it off balance so now it reads around 15 miles per hour faster than what i am really going and i want to know if there is anyway for me to fix that or if i have to buy a new one.....also i have another speedometer and its off of another car and it reads 160k miles mine is only 87k miles is there anyway that i can take the one that i have thats not broken and turn the miles back to what they read on my broken speedometer or am i just f***ed??? any information would be greatly appreciated, by the way i have a 96 eclipse.

I did something similar by going off my TT and DSMLink. Agreed that it's not the safest way to adjust the speedo, but sometimes you have to be innovative. If you do it like this, make sure you're not being stupid and do it with people around you. You don't have to do it at high speeds either. 25mph will work just as good, even 20mph since that's the first marked tick.
