Default Sputtering on acceleration

OK i bought my eclipse 95 rs earlier this year "around may." Well it sputters on acceleration. I've checked everything vacum leaks, egr, and air intake everything. I can't find nething wrong. The car only sputters under 4 rpms, once i hit 4 rpm's its smoot acceleration. I just got the clutch replaced on it. I also check spark plugs/wires. And i just got a new ignition coil on it. Ne info would help....

The ignition wires are a VERY common source of misfire and hesitation as well as oil leaking into the spark plug tubes from the valve cover gasket. Since you checked the plugs- you'd be aware if it was leaking oil in there. I'd take a second look at the wires.

i had the same issue of sputter and it was a Cam pos sensor. Dose the check eng light come on? As for the ignition wires thing that is what they tried to say was wrong with mine but that was a dieing problem but like i told them befor tehy touched the ignition wires that it would not fix it they ended up replaceing the pcm.

Check engine light doesn't come on. Today my car had a hard time idling in traffic. It shut down 2 times when i put up to a stop light. However after work it started up right away and was fine for my 20 min drive home.

has it died after that? Or dose it still continue to die? when this sputter problem occours dose it feel like you are pushing on the gas than releaseing it than pushing it once more or is it like a missfire.

after it "stalls/shuts off" it cranks up right away. from 1-4 rpms i have like slow/no acceleration. It just sputters. Once i hit 4 smooth quick acceleration. Now it just seems to have a hard time idiling. It stalled 3 times yesterday, then i had no problems with the idling. I still have all the power and all i had be4 tho.

accutly sounds like the cam/crank sensor or the pcm i would take it to a hop and see if they will do a dignostic for free.

Ok I have exactly the same problem on my 2001 GT eclispe spyder. The engine light was on and it has been sputtering for about a month. 2 weeks ago the car wouldn't start so i sent it to the closet body shop and they did a complete tune up + changed the O2 sensor. Now the car starts the engine light is off but the car is still sputtering. They couldn't figure out where the missfire was coming from. 2 days ago I finally sent it to Mitsu and they said it was the computer of the car that needs to be changed. Diagnostic was free and the computer is under manufacturer warranty for 8 years so nothing to pay. Should be done within a day.

I really think you should take it to Mitsu, diag should be free.
