ok anything is possible i seen a 500 hp honda civic so i know this can be done.
I have a 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder 2.4L Non Turbo and I need to know what I need to beat a Subaru WRX STI. Im converting my car to turbo and now I need to know what I need to do this HELP PLEASE. And yes I know this is going to be pricey but were racing for a good amount of money. The subaru is stock. Thanks.

there are actually 1000hp civics....there is actually a fwd 4 cylinder civic that runs 6's in the quarter mile lol. anyhow the spyder gs is not the best candidate for a performance car.

Swap in the 4g63t head (that makes it a 2.4 4g63 swap), to include the wiring harnesses, upgrade the turbo, fuel, get ECU managment (DSMLink), and race from a roll.
In the end, you've got the wrong car to race an STi. The Spyder is heavy due to the reinforcements made to make sure the center doesn't buckle. If you really are worried about racing sell the Spyder and get a car made for performance or keep it and buy a car made for performance.

You could do the awd conversion to it... But in my opinion, I wouldnt stick that much money into ur car, b/c its not worth it.. You will never be close to getting the money back out of it, and you will prolly lose to the sti, even after sticking about 10 grand into it...

RE: spyder v.s. subaru
if you really want to take the expensive / un-needed / dumb way out.... you can make your car fast by gettting:
built block
manifold
turbo
wastegate
IC piping
FMIC
bov
boost gauge
wideband
clutch
tuning device
tune
injectors
fuel pump
fpr
4g63 head
to get ur car running good enough to beat an STI (300bhp stock) it'll run you about 5-7k (this is on top of the price you have already paid for your car, which is heavy as sin from the factory). OR you could do the smart thing. sell ur car, buy a GSX, put 2k into it and walk it.

That is retarded.... there are no honda lovers in this forums soo... good luck with that haha, i love the 420a way more than any honda engine... the 4g63 is a great engine on its own and the dsm's a great platform, why downgrade it
