i started up my car today and it started squeeling like a piggy, like bad...i reved it up and still squeeked louder...figured it would go away like it normally does...NOPE it went on for 10minutes down the road and all i smelt was burnt rubber.....

what could this be? how much is a belt normally?

if you smelt burning rubber you may have a seized up pulley somewhere... is your ac working? power steering? is the temp of ur engine normal? could just be a bad belt also. only about 15 bucks and 20 minute change out

my AC blows cold, but not as cold as it was befor? power steering is still going strong...i say its a belt due to the fact that when my motor revs up the sound gets greater

that's common, sounds like an AC belt. try to tighten it for most of the time when they squeel they are just a lil loose. if it is plenty tight than i'd replace it. i'd rather pay 15 bucks and 30 mins of my life than listen and be embarrased at every stop light listening to wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

freeon recharging most likely. change the belt, it will fix the squeel. case closed. if not you have a worse problem w/ a pulley.
