SRT-4 Engine in a '95 Eclipse GS engine bay....Is This Possible?
I know it is very expensive just to get a 4G63 engine into a GS engine bay due to the Cam Gears and Tranny being on the opposite side compared to a 420a so, the wiring would have to be all redone. I realized that the SRT-4 engine had everything in the right place as far as the tranny and the cam gears go. So, I was wondering if the SRT-4 engine would fit without have to do some extensive fabrication. Would it? I know the 420a would be the cheaper way to go but I am just trying to find something with more umph to it.

SRT-4 engine is a 2.4L DOHC, which is ALMOST identical to the 420a,the n/a version of the 2.4 shares the head with the neon 2.0. the side mount is different and the block has a slightly higher deck for the longer stroke, but its based on the same design and looks almost identical when stripped down
the main difference is the mitsu cars had reversed flow direction in the head compared to the dodge cars

well the neon 420a Vs. mitsu 420a is nothing but different flow dir. in the head, the srt4 swaps into a neon fairly eaisly other than wiring and theres a 2.4 adapter mount you can buy - if you can wire it up im sure its easy

You could do it yourself.. .all you would have to do would be hook up all the SRT-4 sensors.. i dont know how much they cost.. so you would have to do that yourself... and after that.. all you need to do is wire it up just like you would a normal SRT-4
