Default SRT-4 vs. GST

Hey guys my buddy just bought a used srt-4 and its completly stock (manual). I have a 97 gst (5 speed) and i was wondering if i could take him in a street race? I do have some upgrades listed below. Thanks

Greddy downpipe
Greddy Cat back exhaust
Dejone upper intercooler upgrade
HKS SSQV blow off valve w/the recirculation kit
Injen Intake
MSD 8.5mm wires
Denso Iridium plugs

U should be able to take him, dont an SRT-4 come wit like 230hp stock?

yea they have 230hp stock and 250lbs of torque.

Yeah you could have one guy drive a freakin rocket powered car and you drive a Yugo but if the rocket car driver is the shyttiest driver in the world then you STILL have a good chance of beating him. (Granted that's an extreme case but it gets my point across).

i think the srt-4 would beat the gst by maby a car. if you keep working on your car though youll be able to blow them away. over on long island there are lots of street races and there is one guy who has a 94 gs+t and he keeps up with the sti's but like they said its not always the car its the driver as well. also in racing tires are very important. my friend had to replace his tires on his sentra ser because he wasnt gripping his tires were spinning through 3rd gear into 4th he put slicks on the thing and now hes doing pretty good. either way i hate neons almost as much as i hate civics so do me a favor and kick his *** with that eclipse

another thing..dont let horsepower get to you..i have a friend who drives a miata and we went to the dyno his miata was reading 108 horse power with a stage 3 turbo kit in it and i know for a fact that his car flys

I think it depends on traction, and launch. I get decent traction with my yokohamas but it could be better. Everyone is suprised when i chirp second gear in a fwd. Id have to say the Gst. Just because i hate dodge.
