i just got a 98 gsx and just started to mod, so far all i have is the HKS high power full cat back(thing sounds awsome), and i had just ordered the HKS ssqv bov also, can anyone tell me how it sounds or have any sound clips, thanks

hks is the worst bov you can have just short of a tial. go with a greddy or even a 1g bov if you dont wana spend a lot of money

 

what is wrong with a Tial BOV? i know a guy that is about to put one on his 3G. i didn't know that Tial made BOV until he bought his.

 

i agree im not a fan of any other BOV other than greddy. the HKS SSQ has been known to leak n compaired to my type RS it doesnt close as fast fast, i noticed compaired to the hks i build boost more rapid with a single valve bov than a dual. in my mind the ssq really only serves a good perpose on the Surpa n RX-r with the stock twins since you have 2 boost factors

 

the supra guys on single turbos use two SSQs

 

alright ill be mroe clear on what i meant. the tial sucks for 99% of the people out there. the spring is crazy stiff, and doesnt work well at all unless you have a drag queen running 30+ psi. its not a good bov for the average person.

the problem with the hks is it surges like CRAZY. and im not just saying this, i had it for 3 years and i hated it. i got it because at the time all i cared about was sound. then it started annoying the hell out of me, and it just sucked. i found a guy who actually wanted to trade me my hks for a type s and i did in a heart beat.

by the way, surging will kill your turbo in no time
