How do you know its getting spark.

Well, it could be a few things. 3 things are needed for combustion.

Oxygen, Fuel, Ignition... all in the right ratio.

Find out what it is your missin'!

if you have fuel, do a compression test. they solve everything

if your car doesnt start because of compression you would have some serious problems . Compression is part of the proccess but i dont think it should necessarily be part of that list only because its by the mechanical parts. Its not something that i dont think would give this issue

how could it NOT cause a no-start? just because his compression is off doesnt necesarilly mean something serious happened? his timing could just be off a little bit and that could very well cause it not to start

Timing being off yes that will cause a no start. But in that case wouldnt it be easier to just check the timing marks on the cams for that?
