thats why i toned it down to 18 for now, especially since i still havent got a new BOV,if i could get the torque steer out of it i'd turn it back up, but with the rears spinning too and the front pullin left & right all over hell it get to be a handfull in a straight line
the guy called me about my engine i got , its not a stock rebuild, it has forged ceramic top pistons, 8.0:1 CR, forged crank, the head is ported, 3 angle valve job and the cams are just a step above stock - and apparently the 14b i took off it has a different turbine wheel thats clipped and a compressor wheel out of something else, he told me the reason the car went to the junk yard was he HAD to get rid of it and the clutch took a crap again
the bottom end was was balanced and supposed to be good to 8500 rpm, im still afraid of blowing it up

now on my friends stock one we run it at lower boost and it wants to run rich, we turn it up around 10-12 and it runs awsome, he likes it there and its not pushing the limits too bad

thanks for the info guys

That 14b you could run 18 daily without any problems.. Its surprisingly a good turbo.. It wont have the pull that you get with the bigger turbos though My spyder has the 14b and its at 9-10 psi right now.. I have to hook up a boost controller to it and play around with it in the spring

the clipped modded whatever 14b wont boost over 15psi with the wastegate tied shut, so it must be clipped toomuch or the WG leaks like crazy, the exhaust is pretty loud with that turbo on it too

It definetly can run that 18-19psi daily but i wouldnt reccommend it for too long because the turbo wont last as long. I would just stick to around 15psi. That will give you plenty of power for what you have now
