strange noise.
You would have to get a different manifold.. If you were running a 14b turbo on there already you could just throw a 16g turbo on, but you have a 2nd gen eclipse right? If you do, your running the t25 which is different.
Huh? What manifold. The exhaust manifold flanges are the same...Mitsu flange. A 2g install kit would be all that you need to put a MHI turbo on.
As for this noise. I was thinking the A/C pulley/compressor...compressor if the A/C was on and pulley if the A/C wasn't on. The description is too vague though.
Have one person stand on the side of the car on the passenger's side, next on the driver's side, then in front of the car. All the while revving to produce the issue again. This may help you guys figure out whether the sound is coming from the rear or front or sides. Need to be specific and sure.
Also, your turbo should spin freely. Do you turbo time or let the turbo cool off after driving it? I know you get on this turbo because it's a T25, you can't help but to get on it.

i have a turbo timer and i always use it. sorry the description is so vague i just dont know how to describe the noise. me and darknigh are going to take a look at it and see if we cant figure out where its coming from. but it is spooling up slower than usual. if i stand in front of the car it sounds like its coming from back right, if im standing to the left it sounds like its coming from the front. is there any way i can figure out where it is coming from for sure.
Not without listening to it really carefully.
I asked about the TT because your turbo should freely spin. I hate to say it but it might be time for a new turbo bud...on top of whatever is making this noise.
So, it sounds like it's coming from the front then?
Try moving all your pulleys around by hand...I don't mean a simple tugging and pulling, because it will take grabbing one and trying to move it back and forth just to see a tiny bit of movement. You can also try shining a light on the pulleys while the motor is running and rev the motor to each pulley looked at. Rev to 3k or until the noise pops up again. Do this with the A/C off. Check your belts, make sure they are on per spec.

sorry i have not posted lately i was on vacation. i was told by my mechanic that it was the turbo going out and it was because of the type of oil i was using. he sayed that the oil i use is not turbo compatible and is breaking down to fast. i dont thankthis is correct, i use 10w 30 full synthetic high mileage oil. is this oil ok to use or should i switch.
