Strange suspension sound (Tranny Question)
I've got a real weird sound coming from the front drivers side of my 01 spyder. It sounds like a styrofoam cooler rubbing against something plastic. That's about the best description I could come up with. It's real annoying and seems to be getting worse.
It seems to go away when the engine is under load which leads me to believe it's an engine or tranny mount. I used a crow bar and wedged into the mount that is directly under the battery tray and the sound went away (I know, not real scientific). I then removed the battery and tray and tried to free the mount up to see if it might be bad. However, I can't get all of the bolts out because of other brackets that are welded to the body and engine. A couple of bolts are long and get blocked.
Has anyone else had this noise problem? Any replaced thes tranny mount and have any suggestions?
Thanks,
~Steve
