Default studderbox?

Question. What a studderbox and its purpose. Do the eclipse come with one.

The basic idea of a stutter box is to build boost before you launch the car. Obviously you dont have it stock. Alot of people will go with the MSD DIS setup becuase its easier than getting a piggyback system

Is there another name for a studder box?? From what you described it as is almost like a high stall torque converter that I can use on my auto.

It is also called "2-Step" for short. It is essentially a 2 step rev limiter... (thats what rally cars have to launch and thats what causes the popping through the exhaust) it is basically like the engineer said to build up spurts of boost before launch. I would beware of this though because it does take its tole on the crap stock turbo and will kill it faster. There are some aftermarket turbos that are built to take exactly that...
