Default stupid t-25

Well i usually have my t-25 set at 15 or so psi. usually my turbo is retarded and drops off to 8psi in the upper rpms. Well today it decided to be super stupid and not boost above 12psi. Yes i have a greddy BOV, yes i have a MBC. Ummm i have checked for boost leaks almost every day for a month now and i cant find any. What is going on here?[sm=headbang.gif]

something is better then nothing lol. Well lets think of this logically and try to locate where the malfunction is. Are you sure its the turbo not making boost and not a gauge thats out of calabration? Also see if you can some how hook up your boost gauge to your compressor housing, you will have to buy some sort of fitting or adapter to get it to work, but that way you would be able to tell if its a problem with the turbo not making enough boost or if its a falw some where else in the system. If its the turbo thats not making enough psi chances are the problem is with the wastegate, actuator, wastegate door, or any other piece of hardwear inside/out side the turbo thats linked to the wastegates operation. If the turbo is making the right amout of boost then the problem is with the rest of the system and the fun of finding a leak begins. Good luck and keep us updated.

i hooked up a boost leak tester to it today and put my compressor on it at 30psi and there were no leaks and the gage read 30psi. Oh hey, my exhaust manifold gasket is leaking a little bit. could that cause a problem?

YES! Exaust gas is bypassing the turbo, less exaust gas is reaching the turbo, less exaust=less boost. Replace that gasket and use this as a chance to get a ported 2g manifold.

so if i get the gasket and an EVO III or ported second gen manifold, I could hold 15psi to redline. All i want untill i drop in my new motor is 15 psi to redline, or the most i can do on stock fuel system

Only thing that will help is changing that gasket. Its a 10 dollar part and a 30 min install.
