Default Sunroof problem

my girlfriend just bought a 95 eclipse rs and the guy that she bought it off of says that the sunroof leaks...now i dont know how bad but i was just wondering if this is going to be an easy fix or hard or maybe a common thing...thanx great forum

maybe replace the seals?? i know my sunroof leaks and i just siliconed the glass down lol... but mine never worked anyway, so it didnt matter to me

I had a leak also but would only notice it after a long rain session. Unclogged the drain and that was it. Seals were crack also but no water leaked after i unclogged it.

Drains are probably clogged.

I think you may have a GS. i don't think that a sunroof was optional in an RS. ANYWAYS this is one of the most common problems w/ Mitsu's. The drain is clogged. get an air compressor and blow it down there or a metal hanger.

yea my rs was an aftermarket one the guy put on before i had the car... it never worked from the time i got it

hmm well come to find out the sunroof dont work either...u hit the button and u hear the motor running but no action...and well the hatch says that its an RS...?thanx

my old next door neighbor had a sunroof on her RS, but i wasn't a electronic, does it have a windshield wiper in the back, because I think GS and up had the only electric things, I could be wrong though.

You can manually crank it open or close can't you.. I was told you could, but never tried since mine works. I was told under the cover where the buttons for the roof are, there a alan key socket that u can use to turn which opens and close the sunroof. Dont know how true it is. Doesn't seem likely, but throwing it out there.

if the motor is working then its probably the gears are off. See if you can try and get to it somehow.
