I dont deal with Mitsi too much but a guy wants me to put a 2000 4 cyl in his 95 non turbo eclipse. He already got the motor/ecu and came to me asking if it would fit. Main things are mounts, tranny, etc. Any help would be great.

 

Why would he want to do that?

 

He said its a better motor. Like I said I dont know anything about Mitsi and whats best for them. I do mostly mustangs and old muscle cars. What would be the best thing for him.

 

It just seems like far too much trouble to swap an entire engine, ect for almost the same engine, maybe just better quality. It's not like he's wanting to swap out a N/A for a turbo or anything. I wouldn't bother, with it. Is he having problems with his current engine?

 

he has 165k on it and it still runs fine. He just wants a fresh motor. He bought the new for like 600 and wants me to put it in. I will do whatever a customer wants but I'd like to know fitment issues so I can over him better solutions.

 

well i have looked into this and you have to change the harness, the motor mount that is on the passanger side of the car has to be moved to the drivers side, new ecu"you have it", i beleve the tranny is differant in the 4g63 than the 420a, all the powersteering windshild washer a/c lines have to be moved to the other side of the car oh and smog pump. ok take the motor along with everthing attched to it. you got now flip it 180 deg. and that is basic idea of what has to happen but with a new harness and ecu.
