It really depends on what you want out of the car. The RS and GS are good for daily drivers, they get good gas mileage andare good formaking a little more showy. The GST and GSX are made for performance, as such they are not always reliable and dont get very good gas mileage.

Acommon problem with the eclipse if you dont take care of the car would have to be the gasket u'll need to check if its cracked or leaking. Next thing is to ask about when the last time the timingbelt was changed and its replacement history because if i brakes it canscrew up your engine. When was the last time the oil was changed, are all the fluids levels correct. Those kind of thing and also just the general questions u ask the sale man about the car. For example the history of the car, has it been in a car accident, does the car have a record those kind of thing.

Hope it helps.

make sure to keep an eye out for an abnormal amount of smoke coming from your exhaust.. if you have white smoke, thats a sign of a blown headgasket and an expensive fix, if you have blue smoke, thats a sign of burning oil, and possibly (make that most likely) an expensive fix.. all stuff to look at when you go to test drive your car

Dude seriously... unless you know your way round the car as well as those that built it... it will not be a good first car.
