Got one last question.. Is this a good deal? His Evo3 big 16g with about 5-6k miles on it and his Evo 3 manifold for $500 and my stock manifold?

well just to give you an idea, the turbo alone costs more than that new . As long as there is no shaft play then its good

You want to run it as lean as possible without knocking. As long as you are not knocking, your engine will be fine.

Its a stage 3 chip.

you do not go as lean as possible, going lean will raise your egt's and get everything too hot and start hurting things!! (crack manifolds, blow turbo's, put holes in pistons, etc etc.). i'm still not all that familiar with tuning numbers but from what i gather a good Wideband fuel ratio number is 11.1

i can lean mine out without knock and get EGT's through the roof when i go to 11.3:1. My car is very picky though, i drove it to work tonight & it runs like ****.
you just have to kinda tune to keep evrything in a safe range. but as lean as poissible is a little far. i could probly turn mine to 12:1 by retarding the timing farther but then the EGT will shoot to melting point extremely fast.
. lose 5 HP and richen it up it will last 50x longer.
For a straigh up drag race car, i wouldnt give two ****s if it knocks the whole way down the track as long as its fast.
