Default throttle positioning sensor

i have a 98 gst and i have still have weird idleing issues. i check the iac motor. i checked all the pins on the iac motor for resistance. then i checked the motor itself with a 6 volt battery. and wetn trough vfaq site and tested it fully. now when i checked the ohms on my tps it came out at 4.67k closed and i adjusted it to .9k like its supposed to according to vfaq. do i need to replace my tps casue its not at 5k ohms like it shoulkd be? also is there any other way to fix my egr valve without bloacking it off ? and if i do have to block it off with it fail emissions?

my idle kinda wodners its on way, my idle is always high. like around 1200 to 1300rpm and sometimes it goes to 1500rpm and then back down maybe after like 10 min of driving. i think my tps was out of adjustment but im going to put my TB back on this afternoon and see what happens then. it could be ur egr valve. thats my next guess

it might be, where would i check for stickyness? thats probably a dumb question. i did spray wd 40 on the springs of the TB with the throttle cable is, and it seemed to help out a little. ill know for sure when i get the tb back on again and ill spray the TB springs agian and see if that helps out or not agian. ill get back to you on it in a day or so.

take throttle body cleaner and spray down the inside of your tb. also check to see if your throttle is adjusted properly (take off the intake piping and look to make sure the throttle plate closes fully)

should my tps resistence fluxuate when closed? when i open the tb it alwasy goes to about 4.60 to 4.61. but hwne its fully closed it goes from 1.09 all the way to .89. somtiems its like 1.02 and then i open and close it and then its like .93?. is that normal or not?

sometimes its actually cheaper to buy a new tranny rather than rebuild this one. But i would just ask around and compare the difference
